There is always something special about digging in the dirt, planting flowers, or pulling weeds. I just love it. You can always get so many great life lessons while getting your hands dirty.
Yesterday, we went plant shopping. My husband engineered a fabulous flower bed, so we couldn't wait to plant flowers. As always, I looked at all the beautiful, healthy flowers up front and then went straight to the discounted flowers in the back,
looking for a great buy. We found flats of flowers discounted to practically nothing. Of course, they were wilted, rather pitiful looking. I bought them anyway.
I am reminded of Luke 13:18-19 Love this parable!
He said therefore, "What is the kingdom of God like?" And to what shall I compare it? It is like a mustard seed (discounted plants) that someone took and sowed in the garden; it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.
As a gardener, I've learned over time, that it doesn't really matter how the plants
look when I buy them, all they need is a little tender loving care. The next thing I know...they are flourishing!
Thank you Father God that you love us like you do!
